Asperula orientalis

Blue Woodruff is one of my favorite self-sowing annuals. It blooms from May to June with little tufts of fluffy, lavender-blue flowers.

Blue Woodruff is a lovely companion plant for roses, shrubs and perennials. Use it as a filler around taller plants or as an early-blooming bulb cover. It is shade-tolerant, and the flowers attract butterflies.

Also known as Asperula azurea.
