Long Island Cheese is an amazingly productive squash. The buff-colored fruits look like big cheese wheels. They are lightly ribbed and weigh 6-12 pounds. The deep orange flesh is full of antioxidants, and it makes wonderful pies and soups.
This high quality squash lasts for a long time in storage. Give the vigorous vines plenty of space. Heirloom from Long Island, New York, pre-1806.
