Brown Goldring lettuce is a romaine (cos) type with green leaves that have bronze tips. The tightly-wrapped, conical heads have canoe-shaped leaves that are good for scooping or filling.
Also known as Crispy Crunchy Green-Gold, which is an accurate description. Very cold-tolerant. This British heirloom won an award of merit in 1923 from the Royal Horticultural Society.
Sowing Brown Goldring Lettuce Seeds
Sow lettuce seeds outdoors in early spring. Sow on the surface in very shallow furrows, or cover lightly with soil. Thin to 8" apart. Full sun to part shade.
