Lathyrus latifolius is a fast-growing, perennial vine with fuschia-pink flowers throughout the summer. Some plants produce white or pale pink flowers, but they are rare in this mixture.

Lathyrus latifolius makes a good groundcover for a large space. It can be used to cover posts, trellises, and chain-link fences. It's a vigorous self-sower, which is problematic for small gardens - unless you deadhead it or grow it in a pot.

I grow it in a large container next to a post by my porch. It looks amazing with Delphinium 'Blue Butterfly', Rudbeckia hirta and Lilium regale.

Also known as Perennial Sweet Pea. Hardy in zones 5-9.
