Ethiopian Kale
(50 days)

Ethiopian kale is not the same species as other kales. It is Brassica carinata, which is an African green that is believed to be an ancient cross of a cabbage or kale with black mustard.
I'm totally in love with this kale because of its sweet, mild flavor. It's wonderful in salads and smoothies. No need to cook! The annual plants produce seed in one season. Easy to grow in a wide range of climates.
Sowing Ethiopian Kale Seeds
Sow kale seeds outdoors in late spring to summer, 1/4" deep. Thin to 12" apart. Full sun to part shade.
