HomeBasil 'Opalescent' is one of Frank Morton's lovely creations made from a cross of Mrihani with Dark Opal. The dark purple, deeply toothed and ruffled leaves have a glossy sheen. The purple flowers have purple bracts.
Opalescent basil is a lovely foliage plant in the flower garden or containers. It has a fruity sweet, anise-clove flavor. Great for salads, syrup and vinegar.

Sowing Opalescent Basil Seeds
Start basil seeds indoors 6 weeks before the last frost date, 1/8" deep. Transplant outdoors 2 weeks after the last frost date. Full sun. Spacing 10".
