Nemophila maculata is an annual wildflower that blooms from spring to summer. The common name, Five Spot, refers to the five-petalled, white flowers that have a purplish-blue spot on the outer edge of each petal.

Five Spot makes a good bulb cover. Try it near the front of the border, in a rockery, or at the edge of a path. It's also nice in containers.

Nemophila maculata is native to California. It prefers the cool temperatures of spring, and it reseeds where it's happy.
