This excellent perennial blooms in mid summer with golden-yellow, double flowers that are good for cutting. It's shown here with Penstemon tubaeflorus.
Coreopsis grandiflora is easy to grow. It blooms best if deadheaded ocassionally. The individual plants are not long-lived, but they self sow to replace themselves. Hardy in zones 4-9.
