This is one of the prettiest little tomatoes I've ever seen. Like its sister, Topaz, it is a good seller at the farmers market. People can't resist the cherry-size, purple fruits with green streaks. It is slightly smaller than Topaz, weighing about 1-2 ounces. The flavor is rich and tangy-sweet, but the skin is just a bit tough. Of course, that's what keeps them from cracking, so they stay looking pretty. The plants are very productive.
Violet Jasper comes from China, where it is called Tzi Bi U.
