Salvia coccinea is one of the best flowers for hummingbirds. It is native to the southeastern United States and Mexico. It is hardy in zones 8-11. Grow it as an annual elsewhere.

Also known as Hummingbird Sage, Scarlet Sage, Texas Sage and Tropical Sage. Deer resistant.
