Papaver orientale var. bracteatum

Papaver orientale var. bracteatum is the most spectacular of all poppies. The huge, 6-8" flowers bloom on sturdy stems that grow 3-4 feet tall. The scarlet-red petals are marked with a black blotch at the base.

Great Red Poppy blooms in late spring to early summer. It looks stunning with bearded iris, lupine and Hesperis matronalis.

Also known as Great Scarlet Poppy and Papaver bracteatum. Deer-resistant.
