Liatris punctata

Liatris punctata is a relatively short species with compact spikes of purple flowers that bloom in late summer to fall. It fits well into small gardens, combining beautifully with other perennials and wildflowers.

Liatris punctata attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. It is drought tolerant and deer resistant.

Also known as Dotted Blazing Star and Spotted Gayfeather. Hardy in zones 3-9.

Sowing Liatris punctata Seeds

Start seeds indoors in winter. Barely cover with soil, then refrigerate for 8 weeks. Full sun to part shade. Spacing 12".
