Tomato 'Chocolate Stripes'

Chocolate Stripes is a beautiful, mahogany-red tomato with olive-green stripes. The fruits weigh 6-8 ounces. The flavor is rich, sweet and earthy (but not muddy). It's one of the tastiest striped tomatoes we have tried - infinitely better than the old Black Zebra.

With a clever name, good looks and excellent flavor, Tomato 'Chocolate Stripes' is destined to be a classic. Bred by John Siegel of Covington, Ohio from a cross of Schimmeig Creg and a pink beefsteak. Introduced to Seed Savers Exchange by Al Anderson of Troy, Ohio in 2007.

Sowing Tomato Seeds

Start tomato seeds indoors 8 weeks before the last frost date. Sow 1/8" deep. Transplant outside 1-2 weeks after the last frost date. Full sun. Spacing 30-36".
