Long Island Cheese is an amazingly productive squash. The buff-colored fruits look like big, lightly ribbed cheese wheels weighing 6 to 10 pounds. The deep orange flesh is full of antioxidants, and it makes wonderful pies and soups.

This high quality squash lasts for a long time in storage. Give the vigorous vines plenty of space. It is an heirloom variety from Long Island, New York, pre-1806.
