Papaver atlanticum 'Flore Pleno' is one of the first poppies to bloom in late spring, and what a cheerful sight! The double flowers are a soft shade of orange that doesn't clash with other colors.

Papaver atlanticum may bloom the first year from seed if started early indoors. It looks charming in the cottage garden. The first flowers appear with the peonies, and new ones continue to bloom throughout the summer if the plants are deadheaded.

Also called Double Atlas Poppy and Moroccan Poppy. Deer resistant. Hardy perennial in zones 4-9.
