Kohlrabi 'Superschmelz'

Kohlrabi 'Superschmelz' is the only variety I like to grow because it really produces! You don't necessarily have to wait for the end of the season to harvest it. But if you do, it will be huge. It can weigh up to 20 pounds, and it will still have a deliciously tender texture.

Superschmelz kohlrabi is a German heirloom from the town of Schmelz in Saarland. The Latin name is Brassica oleracea var. gongylodes. Also known as Giant White kohlrabi.

Sowing Kohlrabi Seeds

Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date. Or sow outdoors 2 weeks before the last frost date. Sow 1/4" deep. Spacing 18". Full sun.
