Cucumber 'Silver Slicer'
54 days, Cucumis sativus
$3.00
35 seeds
Silver Slicer is the juiciest cucumber I've ever eaten. It is so refreshing in the heat of summer! The mild flavor is never bitter. It has a crisp texture that will give your sandwich or salad a bit of crunch.
The 5-6" fruits have a creamy white skin with bumps. The plants are resistant to powdery mildew for prolonged harvest into the fall. Very productive. This open-pollinated variety was bred at Cornell University.
Sowing Cucumber Seeds
Sow cucumber seeds outdoors after the last frost date, 1/2" deep. Or start indoors 3 weeks early. Space plants 15 inches apart in rows spaced 4 feet apart. Or grow in hills spaced 4-6 feet apart, with 3 plants per hill. Full sun.
Home-grown seeds.
