Boston Pickling is a fantastic dual-purpose cucumber. It is great for both pickling and fresh eating. It is rarely bitter, even in hot weather. The steady production kept us supplied with cucumbers from late July to frost.

Sowing Cucumber Seeds

Sow cucumber seeds outdoors after the last frost date, 1/2" deep. Or start indoors 3 weeks early. Space plants 15 inches apart in rows spaced 4 feet apart. Or grow in hills spaced 4-6 feet apart, with 3 plants per hill. Full sun.
