Bean 'Mbombo'

Mbombo bean is a beautiful heirloom from Kenya, Africa. The 5" green pods have an old-fashioned bean flavor that we love.

They quickly mature into dry beans in lovely shades of green. Terrific for soups and stews. The semi-pole vines grow 5-6' tall and require support.

Mbombo is one of the most productive pole beans. Also known as Mbombo Green bean. It is named after the creator god of the African Kuba tribe.

Sowing Pole Bean Seeds

Sow pole bean seeds outdoors 2 weeks after the last frost date, 1” deep and 3” apart. Provide a trellis. Full sun.
