Aethionema grandiflorum forms a spreading mound of blue-green leaves covered with lilac-pink flowers in spring.

Aethionema grandiflorum is a wonderful rock garden plant. It tolerates drought and poor soil, including alkaline soil. It needs well-drained soil to overwinter.

Also known as Persian Stonecress. It won the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. Hardy in zones 5-8.
