Ground cherry is a small fruit that is related to tomatillo. The 1/2" to 3/4" fruits are deliciously sweet. Also called Cape Gooseberry. Latin name: Physalis pruinosa.

Sowing Ground Cherry Seeds

Start ground cherry seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date. Sow 1/4" deep. Transplant outside 2 weeks after the last frost date. Full sun. Spacing 24".
