I just adore violas. They have self sown in my garden for many years. The little flowers bloom from spring to fall with purple, lavender and yellow faces.

Viola tricolor is a short-lived perennial. The flowers are edible, which makes it a perfect addition to the herb garden. Also called Johnny Jump-Up, Wild Pansy or Heartsease. Hardy in zones 4-9.

height 6"

Sowing Viola Seeds:
Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date. Or sow outdoors in late spring. Barely cover the seeds. Full sun to part shade. Hardy in zones 4-9.
