I just adore violas. They have self sown in my garden for many years. The little flowers bloom from spring to fall with purple, lavender and yellow faces.
Viola 'Helen Mount' is a short-lived perennial. The flowers are edible, which makes it a perfect addition to the herb garden. Also called Johnny jump-up, wild pansy, or heartsease. Hardy in zones 4-9.
