Blue Vervain produces a candelabra of lavender-blue flowers that butterflies enjoy. It's a native wildflower that grows quite tall and self-sows prolifically, so it may be best suited to a wild garden.
Verbena hastata appreciates moist soil, but it grows well in ordinary garden conditions. Also known as Swamp Vervain. Hardy in zones 3-9.
