The name of this tomato means "giant bunch of grapes". The plants produce large clusters of 1" fruits with a pointy tip. The flavor is pleasantly mild.
Riesentraube was grown in this country as early as 1856 by the Pennsylvania Dutch. In 100 Heirloom Tomatoes for the American Garden, Dr. Carolyn Male says, "If there is one tomato that absolutely must be grown by heirloom aficionados, Riesentraube is it."
