This unique tomato is a sport of Cherokee Green. It was discovered in the garden of Marianne Jones of Marianna's Heirloom Seeds. She says, "It's the only green pear that I am aware of." (Me, too.)
Cherokee Green Pear has become my favorite green tomato. It is incredibly productive, producing plenty of medium-small, green fruits with beautiful, lime-green interiors. The fruits are ripe when they develop an amber tint and are easy to pick from the vines. The flavor is wonderfully rich and spicy. Unique!
