Heirloom Swiss Chard, French Swiss Chard
(Beta vulgaris var. cicla)
This heirloom Swiss chard originated in France. It's a wonderfully mild-tasting and bolt-resistant variety. I prefer Swiss chard over spinach because it does better in our hot summers.
Pick Swiss chard leaves individually as they reach 5-6" long. They will continue to produce until late fall.
