These large, hubbard-type squash weigh about 12 lbs. with sweet, dry, orange flesh and gray-green skin. The texture is non-stringy, and the flavor is excellent. Also good for pies.
Sweet Meat squash was introduced by Gill Brothers seed company of Portland, Oregon. The vines are very vigorous, so give them plenty of space. Keeps well in storage.
