Winter savory is a perennial herb with narrow green leaves and tiny white flowers. It has a stronger flavor than summer savory, which makes it useful for seasoning meats, beans and stews.
Winter savory also makes a fine ornamental plant. It is drought-tolerant and easy to grow in well-drained soil. Prune the plants to keep them compact and bushy. Hardy in zones 5-8.
