This unusual salvia has dark purple leaves and stems. The flowers are not really noticeable, so it is grown for the striking foliage. It's nice at the front of the border or in containers.
Salvia 'Purple Volcano' is supposedly hardy in zones 5-10, but my plants act like self-sowing annuals. Pre-chill the seeds for 3 weeks.
