Ratibida pinnata

Ratibida pinnata is a tall wildflower, native to the eastern half of North America. The flowers have drooping, yellow petals surrounding a light brown cone. It blooms from mid to late summer, attracting butterflies. The seedheads provide food for birds.

Ratibida pinnata thrives in well-drained soil where it reseeds nicely. Plant it in the back of the border with other tall plants. It's nice with shrubs and large ornamental grasses.

Also known as Yellow Coneflower or Gray-Headed Coneflower. Drought tolerant. Hardy perennial in zones 3-10.
