Ratibida columnifera is a native wildflower with drooping, yellow petals surrounding a column-like center. It blooms from mid summer to fall.

Yellow Mexican Hat looks great with other wildflowers and ornamental grasses. Try it with Echinacea purpurea. The long-blooming flowers attract butterflies.

Ratibida columnifera blooms the first year from seed, if started early indoors. Also known as Ratibida columnaris, Mexican Hat, Long-headed Coneflower, and Upright Prairie Coneflower. Drought tolerant. Hardy perennial in zones 3-10.
