This is a very popular pepper, probably because it's such a heavy producer. The plants are loaded with long, tapered fruits that ripen from greenish-yellow to bright red. They are rather thin-walled, but they have a nice, tangy flavor.
Sweet Banana peppers ripen early and are greatly appreciated by those of us who garden in the north.
