Peony poppies bloom in shades of red, white, pink and purple. The large, double flowers are impressive. They make a grand addition to the annual garden in early to mid summer. The blue-green seed pods are also interesting.
Papaver paeoniflorum grows best in the cool weather of spring. Sow outdoors several weeks before the last frost date. Sow in the fall in mild winter areas.
