Red German Catchfly

Red German catchfly blooms in May to June with loose sprays of deep, purple-red flowers above a rosette of narrow, dark green leaves.
This lychnis is quite rare and difficult to find in the United States. I think that it deserves to be more widely grown. The color is really beautiful. Hardy in zones 3-8.
