I'm just crazy about Lupine 'Morello Cherry'. The exquisite spikes of cherry-red flowers bloom in late spring to early summer. The plants are weather-resistant, and they bloom the first year from seed, if started early.
Lupine 'Morello Cherry' is a valuable addition to the garden because it blooms at a time when there are few other flowers. Now you can have something impressive to show your friends when they visit at the "wrong time". Hardy in zones 4-8.
Sowing Lupine Seeds:
Scarify seeds with sandpaper, then soak overnight. Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date. Or sow outdoors after the last frost. Space plants 12" apart. Full sun to part shade. Seeds are poisonous.
