Also known as Merveille de Quatre Saisons, this heirloom lettuce is from nineteenth century France. I found out the reason for its name when it self sowed in my garden, and we were harvesting a second crop in November.
This lettuce is very cold tolerant, but it's not quite as heat tolerant as our other varieties. It has good flavor and is valuable for adding color to salads. Bibb type. 50 days.
