Lavatera trimestris is a popular cottage garden flower. This lovely mix blooms in midsummer with large, cup-shaped flowers in shades of pink, rose and white.
Lavatera is often combined with cleome, which matches its cool colors and contrasts with its form. But it also looks good with many other annuals and perennials in the garden.
Lavatera trimestris usually reseeds, but I like to sow new seeds each year because self sowing is unreliable here in zone 5. Also known as Rose Mallow.
