Knautia is a lovely and versatile perennial. It has gray-green leaves and tall, wiry stems of pincushion-style flowers in a deep shade of crimson red that looks good with anything.
Knautia macedonica blooms from late spring to fall, and it makes a nice filler between large perennials, shrubs and ornamental grasses. Hardy in zones 5-10.
