Sweet hibiscus is an annual or tender perennial, hardy in zones 8b-11. It has large, pale yellow flowers on tall stems. Both the flowers and leaves are edible.
Sweet Hibiscus makes a great ornamental and edible plant for the back of the vegetable garden. The flower petals can be added to salads or used like tortillas to wrap food. The leaves can be cooked like spinach or added to soups.
