Echinacea purpurea 'Double Decker'

Echinacea 'Double Decker' has large flowers in a lovely shade of reddish mauve. It blooms for a long time in mid summer. As the first petals begin to fade, some of the flowers put out new petals on top of the cones, making them double.

This amazing purple coneflower has an unusual but pleasing look. It is tall and vigorous, and it self sows nicely. Combine it with other summer-blooming perennials, wildflowers and ornamental grasses.

Echinacea purpurea 'Double Decker' was discovered in Germany. Originally called Echinacea purpurea 'Doppelganger'. Deer resistant. Hardy perennial in zones 3-9.
