This excellent variety has the darkest red flowers of any Sweet William. They are such a deep shade of ruby red that they appear black.

Dianthus barbatus makes a wonderful cut flower. In the garden, it's a great companion plant for roses. Also known as Dianthus barbatus var. nigrescens. Hardy in zones 4-9.
