This perennial herb is always popular in the kitchen. It's also a nice garden plant with rosy-purple flowers that attract bees, butterflies and beneficial insects.
Chives bloom in May and June. The plants are then cut to the ground to rejuvenate them and keep them from self-sowing everywhere. Space 10" apart for a hedge. Zones 3-9.
